Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support to healthcare providers by performing clinical and administrative duties that ensure smooth operations. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment for patients while maintaining high standards of medical practice. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills across various medical specialties, including dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, and outpatient services. Responsibilities Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and ensuring comfort throughout their visit Assist healthcare providers during procedures, including phlebotomy, X-ray setup, and medication administration Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately, including documentation of patient encounters, ICD coding, and treatment plans Support patient intake processes by verifying insurance information and updating medical histories in the system Perform basic laboratory tasks such as specimen collection and processing in compliance with safety standards Maintain clinical supplies inventory and ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of equipment and exam rooms Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, offering instructions, and fostering a positive experience Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding Experience with EMR/EHR management systems and electronic health records documentation (particularly with the EMR Nextgen Office) Proficiency in clinical procedures such as vital signs measurement, phlebotomy, medication administration, and intake procedures Wound care experience is considered highly desireable Outpatient clinic experience across specialties like internal medicine or geriatrics is preferred Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as emergency medicine or urgent care settings Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations Proficiency in Spanish Speaking is beneficial This position is ideal for motivated individuals eager to grow their career in healthcare while making a meaningful difference in patients' lives.
