This vital role combines clinical support with administrative responsibilities to ensure seamless patient care and efficient clinic operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in medical procedures, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to patient service. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, supporting diverse medical specialties including dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, and outpatient clinics. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and assist with patient intake processes to facilitate smooth clinic flow. Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately. Prepare patients for examinations by documenting medical histories and updating electronic health record (EHR) systems with relevant information. Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures including medication administration, specimen collection, and basic X-ray imaging when applicable. Manage appointment scheduling, follow-up coordination, and maintain efficient patient flow within outpatient or inpatient settings. Support medical staff with ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures to ensure accurate billing and documentation. Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas while adhering to infection control protocols in various environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Geriatrics clinics. Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring comfort throughout visits. Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or Receptionist within healthcare settings such as dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, or urgent care centers. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration protocols. Familiarity with EHR systems and proficiency in ICD coding for accurate documentation. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications in X-ray operation or emergency medicine are advantageous. Experience working in hospital environments including Level II trauma centers or PICU units is preferred; clinic experience in outpatient or inpatient settings is essential. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and administrative staff from diverse backgrounds. Ability to adapt quickly to various medical specialties such as internal medicine, geriatrics, medical-surgical units, or OR environments.
