Medical Assistant Hiring Now! About the Role We're seeking a compassionate, reliable Medical Assistant to join a mission-driven, community health clinic serving underserved populations. This is a primarily back-office role with a strong focus on HIV testing, counseling, and high-volume phlebotomy in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Perform high-volume phlebotomy , including venipuncture, finger sticks, and specimen processing Provide pre- and post-test HIV counseling using a client-centered approach Conduct HIV/STD risk assessments and deliver prevention education Take vitals, room patients, and prepare charts for providers Assist during exams and clinical procedures Maintain equipment logs (Hemocue, refrigerators, etc.) Support linkage to HIV care for newly diagnosed or disengaged patients Coordinate and track referrals Assist with patient discharge and follow-up instructions Ensure accurate documentation aligned with funder and quality standards Maintain strict HIPAA compliance Qualifications Medical Assistant diploma or certification Bilingual in Spanish Current CPR/BLS certification EMR experience 1-2+ years of Medical Assistant experience (flexible for strong candidates)
Highly Preferred:
Experience in community health, FQHC, nonprofit, or primary care settings Strong phlebotomy skills (CPT certification a plus) Experience with HIV testing, counseling, or sexual health programs CMA or CPT certification Why Join This Team?
