We are seeking an experienced, motivated Lead Medical Assistant & Clinical Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day clinical operations while remaining actively involved in patient care. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is organized, dependable, compassionate, and comfortable guiding a clinical team in a fast-paced orthopedic office. The ideal candidate has strong medical-assistant experience, excellent patient-service skills, and the ability to keep clinic flow efficient, organized, and welcoming. Key Responsibilities Lead, train, mentor, and support Medical Assistants and clinical support staff. Coordinate daily clinic flow, room readiness, patient intake, and provider schedules. Ensure patients are efficiently roomed, vital signs and histories are accurately obtained, and documentation is complete in the EHR. Assist the physician and PA with orthopedic evaluations, injections, procedures, wound care, splinting/bracing, DME, and postoperative care. Prepare examination and procedure rooms; ensure instruments, supplies, medications, and equipment are stocked and ready. Coordinate imaging, referrals, authorizations, follow-up appointments, and patient communications as needed. Maintain high standards for chart preparation, documentation, coding support, and charge capture. Help oversee clinical inventory, supply ordering, equipment maintenance, infection-control practices, and
OSHA/HIPAA
compliance. Address patient concerns professionally and help create an exceptional patient experience from check-in through follow-up. Collaborate closely with front-office, referrals, surgery scheduling, and billing staff to improve communication and workflow. Assist with onboarding, training, performance feedback, and accountability for clinical team members. Identify workflow bottlenecks and implement practical improvements to support efficient, high-quality care. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of Medical Assistant experience , preferably in orthopedics, sports medicine, surgery, pain management, urgent care, or another procedural specialty. Prior lead, supervisory, office-manager, or team-training experience strongly preferred. Medical Assistant certification Bilingual English/Spanish Strong knowledge of patient intake, vital signs, medical terminology, anatomy, injections/procedural support, and EHR documentation. Comfortable working with patients of all ages and backgrounds, including personal-injury and workers' compensation patients. Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills. Dependable, detail-oriented, professional, and able to remain calm in a busy clinical environment.
