Friday Pay:
$22.34 to $24.34 per hour This is a float position, which spans from La Cañada to Glendora (approximately 15-20 miles end-to-end). Medical Assistants may be assigned to various clinic locations within this region depending on operational needs. Responsibilities of the
Medical Assistant:
- Provide direct clinical support to providers during patient visits, including rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vital signs, reviewing medical history, and preparing patients for examination.
- Assist with clinical procedures as needed, ensuring proper preparation, sterile technique, and patient safety.
- Accurately document patient information in the electronic health record (EHR) system in a timely manner.
- Coordinate patient flow throughout the clinic to ensure efficiency and minimize wait times. Perform routine clinical tasks such as administering injections/vaccines, performing EKGs, phlebotomy (if applicable), and point-of-care testing.
- Respond to patient inquiries, provide basic education, and support follow-up care instructions.
- Maintain exam rooms by stocking supplies, cleaning between patients, and ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
- Support care team communication, including coordination with providers, front office staff, and other departments.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling, referrals, and prior authorizations.
- Flex between multiple clinic locations to provide coverage as needed and ensure continuity of patient care.
Qualifications of the
Medical Assistant:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Active Medical Assistant Certification required
- Active BLS required - AHA
- Previous experience in a clinical setting (e.g., outpatient clinic, medical office).
- Strong knowledge of clinical workflows and patient care processes.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable transportation is required, as this is a float position covering multiple sites. Why work for Adecco?
