Job Description

Attention:
Failure to complete all screening questions could result in the application being rejected. Proficiency in conversational Mandarin Chinese and professional English speaking, reading, and writing is required for this position. Setting Bonnie Huang Hall, MD PhD, is a family medicine physician's office in Fremont serving the medical needs of a patient population from the diverse communities of the East Bay and South Bay Area. Many patients like the personal feel of this small practice that currently has a single medical provider with a small support staff. Dr. Hall cares about her patients and treats her staff with friendly respect. Role The medical assistant contributes to the caring environment of the practice by listening to patient concerns and scheduling appropriate care with the physician. The medical assistant also contributes to the timely addressing of patient needs by supporting the physician's efforts to provide medical care for her patients.
Required Staff Schedule Monday:
8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Tuesday:
8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Thursday:
8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Friday:
1:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
Saturday:
8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (once per month, shared with other staff)
Possible Extra Shifts Tuesday:
1:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
Thursday:
1:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
Friday:
8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Responsibilities Clinical Support Take vitals (temperature, weight, height, blood pressure) Clean exam room Prepare appropriate medical supplies for patient appointments Process patient specimens (blood, urine, breath) Perform EKG (electrocardiogram) measurements Administer vaccines Draw blood for labs Wash patient ears Train new medical assistants (if certified by qualified certifying organization) Administrative Support Answer phone calls and process voicemail Schedule appointments Collect patient payments Support and document communications between the physician and her patients Process medical records requests and incoming faxes Send referrals to other medical offices Requirements Availability to work the required staff schedule specified above Proficient in professional English communication, including reading and understanding medical documentation, following written or spoken instructions, and writing records of patient interactions Fluent in conversational Mandarin Chinese, enough to understand and respond to patient concerns in Mandarin Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
