Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a variety of medical settings including healthcare clinics. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care and support to our medical staff. This person will be responsible for performing clinical back office tasks and clerical front office tasks, when needed. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures. Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort. Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with coding for insurance purposes. Maintain accurate patient records in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the clinic. Ensure cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment. Collaborate with providers to ensure comprehensive patient care. Check in and check out patients, collect payments and assist with referrals as needed. Qualifications At least one year experience as a Medical Assistant or a similar role within a medical-surgical environment. Familiarity with interventional pain medicine practices is an advantage. Strong understanding of vital signs measurement techniques. Proficiency in coding practices related to medical billing and insurance claims. Experience working within both inpatient settings and outpatient clinics is desirable. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient interaction. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent is required.
