Job Description
This is a benefited, full-time position working Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The position is located at the Shiley Pavilion at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines, but may require floating to other sites as needed. There are no weekends or evening shifts, and the schedule consists of 8-hour shifts. Flexibility with work hours is required based on departmental and patient care needs. Why join Scripps Health? What you'll do: Assisting with inpatient dermatology visits Front and back office duties Perform patient intakes Scribing for the dermatologist Assisting with diagnostic testing, phototherapy and surgical procedures Completing clerical duties including scheduling patient visits, taking supply inventory and managing medication authorization approvals Float to other sites within the specialty depending upon department needs Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment, and organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practice. Assisting in preparing patients for examination/procedures Assisting physicians with procedures Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person Collecting patient data in person and by phone and documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review Administering medications specifically directed by the physician Performing vital sign documentation Scheduling of appointments and procedures Complete and accurate message taking Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction Order and referral entry Acquisition of pre-certifications Setting up of cases in EPIC Basic registration and updating of demographics
