Medical Assistant - Rheumatology - Torrey Pines

This is a benefited, full-time position generally working Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Located in La Jolla at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines. This position requires both front-office and back-office Medical Assistant responsibilities. You will be required to float to other specialties at the same location as needed. What you'll do: Both front office and back office duties Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures, specifically injections Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practice Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person Collecting patient data in person and by phone Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review Administering medications specifically directed by the physician Scheduling of appointments and procedures Complete and accurate message taking Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics Float to other specialties as needed Qualifications - External
