The Medical Assistant is responsible for the medication monitoring/observation and coordination with consulting medical staff, clinical staff and outside providers. They are responsible for following guidelines and implementation of medical aspects of the company's program in accordance with the standards and procedures of the facility. BrightQuest Treatment Center is an organization dedicated to developing highly specialized treatment programs serving individuals and families suffering from addiction, mental health and co-occurring disorders. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Participates in and supervises daily audits and medication counts within each residence or center where observation of self-administered medication is conducted. Medication disposal as required. Help clients on-site and off-site with appointments. Complete vitals for clients based on recommendation of physician. Ability to read and implement treatment plans. Maintenance of nursing department supplies and over the counter medication supplies. Communicates client's medication needs promptly to pharmacy. Fully understand and maintain policies regarding professional ethics, including appropriate boundaries and client confidentiality; monitor documents according to company and HIPAA policies. Professionally, ethically, and compassionately relates to clients, families, referral sources and staff at all times. Meet timeliness expectations of completing work as scheduled, demonstrating self-paced performance and adjusting priorities as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned. BrightQuest is a covered employer under the CDPH mandated Covid-19 vaccination order. To be eligible for this position you must be fully vaccinated from Covid-19 and have your booster (if eligible) or have a valid medical or religious exemption. Minimum Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant required. CPR / First Aid certified. Experience with crisis management and de-escalation techniques. Certification to administer injections and TB tests. Two years of experience in a behavioral health residential treatment setting, supporting individuals with a primary mental health diagnosis. Must be familiar with general pharmacy abbreviations and demonstrate awareness and competency with managing lookalike, soundalike medications. Specific, required, current, and active licensure, registration, or certification must be maintained in good standing. Preferred candidates should have sound understanding of mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and milieu therapy. Proficient computer skills and ability use various software programs. Have a valid driver's license Successfully complete drug screen and comprehensive background check.
