Hiring Range:
The hiring range for this position is $4,087 (Step 5)- $4,789 (Step 13) per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
CSU Classification Salary Range:
The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3,776 (Step 1)- $5,287 (Step 18) per month.
Paid Time Off:
Up to 24 vacation days per year (based on employee group and/or length of service), 14 paid holidays, and 12 sick days annually with unlimited accrual.Health Coverage:
A variety of medical, dental, and vision plans.Retirement Plans:
Participation in the CalPERS defined benefit plan, along with voluntary savings options such as 403(b), 401(k), and 457 plans.Educational Benefits:
Tuition fee waiver programs for eligible employees; dependent eligibility varies by employee group and bargaining unit. Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Confidential counseling and support services for employees and their families.Additional Benefits:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The ideal candidate demonstrates strong oral communication skills and works diplomatically and effectively with colleagues, staff, clinicians, and students while fostering cooperative, respectful working relationships. They are reliable, punctual, consistently present, and able to work productively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. The candidate complies fully with Student Health Services policies, HIPAA privacy and security requirements, EMR access protocols, and practices within the Medical Assistant scope as guided by the Medical Board of California. They are quick to learn clinic procedures, follow detailed oral and written instructions, understand basic medical terminology, competently handle patient‑care equipment, accurately observe and record information, and possess solid computer skills to support health information technology in a Student Health Center environment. Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence." Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required One year of experience performing the duties of a medical assistant in an outpatient clinic preferred Licenses / Certificates Possession and maintenance of a valid CPR/AED certification required Certificate of completion from an accredited and approved medical assistant training program through the Department of Education or Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education within the Department of Consumer Affairs required Application Procedures Please fill out the application completely.
