Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of clinical procedures, patient care, and medical administrative support, with experience across various specialties including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient clinics. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and high-quality care delivery within a fast-paced medical environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient well-being while working alongside experienced healthcare professionals. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments across diverse specialties such as dermatology, emergency medicine, and internal medicine. Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature. Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining medical histories and performing initial assessments. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, and verifying insurance information. Administer medications and injections following proper protocols and safety guidelines. Assist with diagnostic procedures including X-ray imaging and basic laboratory tests when required. Ensure proper infection control practices are maintained in all clinical areas. Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring comfort throughout visits. Support inpatient and outpatient care activities within hospital or clinic settings, including Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center environments. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in settings such as PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), Geriatrics clinics, or Medical-Surgical units to optimize patient outcomes. Skills Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding for accurate documentation and billing processes. Proven experience in urgent care, or similar clinical environments with exposure to emergency medicine protocols. Strong understanding of medical-surgical procedures and outpatient/inpatient care workflows. Familiarity with EHR systems for efficient record-keeping and data management. Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) certification and medication administration safely. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients in PICU settings. Knowledge of hospital experience standards including Level I Trauma Center requirements or Level II trauma center protocols is preferred.
