Our practice provides both primary care services and advanced wound care, so the ideal candidate must be comfortable supporting the doctor in both settings. The Medical Assistant will assist with various clinical tasks while ensuring a positive experience for patients. Responsibilities Room patients and verify patient identity Obtain and document vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation, weight) Record chief complaint, medication list, allergies, and medical history Prepare patients for physician examinations and procedures Assist physicians during routine exams and minor procedures Update patient information and document visits in the electronic medical record (EMR) Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up visits Assist with referrals, prior authorizations, and patient communications Answer phones and assist with front office tasks as needed Follow infection control and safety protocols Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality Assist with inventory management and supply ordering Support overall clinic workflow and patient care coordination Prepare wound care trays and sterile supplies Assist physicians during wound care procedures including debridement and dressing changes Assist with advanced wound care treatments and application of dressings Educate patients on wound care instructions and follow-up care Administer injections or vaccines as ordered by the physician Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory testing Maintain exam rooms and ensure proper cleaning and preparation between patients Experience Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar (minimum 3 years) Familiarity with medical terminology, coding practices, and patient care protocols is essential. Primary Care experience Experience in inpatient care is a plus. Being competent in Excel is mandatory.
