Medical Assistant

Established and growing multi-specialty clinic in Neurology, Neuro IR, and Interventional Radiology, is looking for a medical assistant:

Responsibilities:

Prepare patients for clinic visits, including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance and eligibility, and gathering medical history records. Greet patients, obtain vital signs, obtain patient medical history, chief complaints, HPI, etc. and document in the EHR system. Reconcile patient medication and allergy and document in the EHR Coordinate patient referrals, schedule follow up appointments, and communicate follow-up instructions to patients. Clean exam room after visit. Schedule surgeries at hospitals. Request prior authorizations. Demonstrate empathy and sensitivity while interacting with patients, ensuring their comfort and confidentiality. Adhere to all legal, regulatory, and organizational policies and procedures. Cross covers other clinic responsibilities Provide excellent patient service by addressing patient concerns and ensuring their comfort. Assist with coding and billing processes to ensure accurate documentation and reimbursement.

Qualifications:

• College graduate in Pre-Med or other medical major; Completion of a medical assistant program preferred
• Previous experience working in a hospital or medical office setting is a plus
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
• Proficiency in performing vital signs measurements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare providers
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Chinese / Mandarin or Spanish language preferred
• Computer and typing skills required
