Back Office Float•Medical Assistant Citrus Valley is seeking a dependable, professional, and patient-focused Back Office Float to support our clinical teams across multiple clinic locations. This role is ideal for a Medical Assistant who is organized, adaptable, comfortable in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and committed to providing excellent patient care. As a Back Office Float, you will assist providers and clinic teams with patient rooming, vitals, documentation, referrals, authorizations, patient communication, in-office procedures, quality programs, and general back office support. This position requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and a team-first attitude.

8:00 a.m.•2:00 p.m. Primary Responsibilities The Back Office Float will: Room patients and prepare them for provider visits Take and document patient vitals Chart current medications in the EMR portal Assist with patient callbacks, text messages, and patient portal messages in a timely manner Communicate with patients regarding prescription refills, DME orders, provider feedback, and negative lab or diagnostic results Help problem-solve when patients have questions, confusion, or concerns about care orders or treatment received Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and tertiary requests, ensuring appropriate documentation is submitted accurately and on time Submit direct referrals and authorizations to insurance carriers Send non-direct referrals and authorizations to the assigned Outpatient Call Solution representative Perform or assist with in-office procedures, including: Ear lavage EKGs Vision checks Hearing tests Injections Wound care Splints Other in-office procedures as needed Possible lab draws, if certified Complete paperwork for P4P, ACO, and 5 Star programs Accurately complete Quality Measure Cheat-Sheets and submit them to the Clinic Medical Lead Maintain medication, equipment, and other applicable logs Ensure Patient Satisfaction Surveys are completed Maintain clear communication with providers, Clinic Lead, Clinical Site Manager, and management Keep the office clean, safe, and hygienic Follow all safety, infection control, HIPAA, confidentiality, and company policies Support other duties or department needs as assigned What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: Compassionate, professional, and patient-centered A strong team player with a positive attitude Organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable Comfortable floating between multiple clinic locations Able to communicate clearly with patients, providers, and staff Calm and solution-focused when patients are confused or upset Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately Comfortable working in a busy clinical setting Qualifications High school diploma required Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant , Medical Assistant , or similar medical assistant school or program required Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel Experience using Microsoft Calendar or Google Calendar Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations Knowledge of insurance, quality programs, and audit protocols preferred Prior back office medical assistant experience preferred Lab draw certification preferred, but not required unless performing lab draws Additional Requirements Must be willing to provide coverage across assigned Citrus Valley locations, including Corona Primary Clinics, NMG, and EMG Must follow all company policies, safety procedures, infection control protocols, and confidentiality requirements Must uphold Citrus Valley's mission, leadership standards, and high-performance practices Must be adaptable to department or site changes based on staffing needs Why Join Citrus Valley?
