Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), where your expertise will directly impact patient care and clinic operations. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate support to patients and healthcare providers across diverse medical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital departments, and specialized units. Your energetic approach will help streamline clinical workflows, enhance patient experiences, and ensure the delivery of high-quality medical services. Whether assisting in dermatology clinics, urgent care centers, or inpatient units, your skills will be essential in creating a welcoming environment that promotes health and healing. Duties Perform patient intake procedures by collecting comprehensive medical histories and accurately recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature. Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks including medication administration, wound dressing changes, and preparing patients for procedures like X-ray imaging or minor surgeries. Support physicians and nurses in specialized areas such as dermatology, emergency medicine, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or Geriatrics to ensure smooth patient flow and optimal care delivery. Operate and maintain EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems to document patient encounters meticulously, including ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures. Conduct basic laboratory procedures such as specimen collection and processing, along with performing vital signs assessments during inpatient or outpatient visits. Assist with radiology procedures by preparing patients for X-ray imaging and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Manage administrative responsibilities like appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate medical records to support efficient clinic operations. Experience Proven experience working in various healthcare environments including hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or specialty practices such as dermatology or internal medicine. Familiarity with hospital settings such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is highly desirable. Hands-on experience with medical-surgical units, emergency departments, Geriatrics clinics, or OR (Operating Room) support is preferred. Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology to effectively assist in diverse clinical scenarios. Demonstrated ability to perform clinical tasks such as medication administration, ICD coding, vital signs collection, and basic X-ray procedures. Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be current. Experience supporting inpatient care or working within high-acuity environments like the PICU or Level I Trauma Centers enhances your candidacy.
