Shift :
Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, Saturdays 8:00am to 1:00pm as needed. Key Responsibilities May perform both front office and back-office duties including registration, insurance verification, check-in and check-out. Monitor patient flow and recommend improvements for clinic efficiency. Take vital signs, intake patients, and prepare them for exams. Perform patient care tasks within medical assistant training, including patient history, ECG, specimen collection, venipuncture, injections, vital signs, charting, supply management, and sterile techniques. Conduct select physical exams (e.g., diabetic foot exams, audiograms). Collect blood specimens from patients of all ages. Carry out standing orders for lab tests, EKGs, chest X-rays, and other diagnostics. Sterilize and clean instruments using autoclave procedures. Provide patient education and exam instructions. Assist with maintaining medical records, immunization, and health registries. Prep charts before appointments. Support by answering calls, assisting staff, scheduling, and confirming appointments. Prepare forms for provider review. Process medication refills as ordered by the provider. Resolve minor patient issues and communicate patient concerns to supervisor or Provider as necessary. Will assist with patient outreach and work with Quality Improvement team to help close gaps in patient care. Provide patient education and instructions as directed by providers. Support services in Adult, OB, Pediatric, and Medical Records units
Experience and Credentials:
6+ Months of experience in a healthcare setting as a Medical Assistant, CNA, or Medical Aide. High school diploma or equivalent Valid and current State or National Medical Assistant Certification required from one of the following: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) American Medical Technologists (AMT) National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) National Healthcareer Association (NHA) National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) California Certifying Board for Medical Assistants (CCBMA) Phlebotomy certification a plus Current CPR Certification.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Proficiency with
EPIC EHR
Basic Microsoft Word/Excel skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to perform the duties and responsibilities described above. General knowledge of clinical terminology and normal ranges for vital signs. Ability to maintain consistent and reliable attendance. Excellent customer service skills.
Language Skills:
verbal and written fluency in English required. Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred but not required.
