In this vital role, you will support medical providers by performing clinical and administrative tasks across outpatient and inpatient settings, including hospital medicine, urgent care, dermatology, and specialized units such as PICU and Geriatrics. Your proactive approach and compassionate attitude will ensure patients receive exceptional service while maintaining smooth clinic operations. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately. Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to support clinical assessments. Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort. Support physicians with procedures such as X-ray positioning, medication administration, and basic life support during emergencies. Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently to document patient information, ICD coding, and treatment plans clearly and securely. Conduct routine clinical tasks including specimen collection, wound dressing changes, and assisting with minor procedures in outpatient or inpatient settings. Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, scheduling follow-ups, and ensuring a welcoming environment across diverse specialties like internal medicine or hospital medicine. Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in clinical settings such as hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or specialty units like dermatology or Geriatrics. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols. Hands-on experience with EHR systems and familiarity with hospital environments including Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is highly desirable. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or OR experience are a plus. Strong communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care in fast-paced environments including urgent care or emergency medicine scenarios. Ability to perform clinical duties involving X-ray support or PICU procedures when necessary. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within medical-surgical units or geriatrics settings with attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
