Job Description

At Crescita Behavioral Health our goal is to provide the best care possible for our clients and community by implementing effective compassionate treatment. This a part time position with opportunities for advancement within our administrative team. We invite you to join a team of dedicated counselors, mental health providers and clinicians in service to a diverse client base. Position Summary The Medical Assistant / Urinalysis (UA) Collection Technician provides administrative and clinical support services within an outpatient therapy setting. This position is responsible for collecting, documenting, and processing urine specimens in accordance with agency policies, chain-of-custody procedures, and applicable regulatory standards. The Medical Assistant also assists with client intake, scheduling, recordkeeping, and coordination of care to support high-quality client services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Urinalysis Collection Services Maintain confidentiality and professionalism during all collection procedures. Conduct observed urine specimen collections according to agency policies Maintain strict chain-of-custody procedures and documentation. Label, secure, store, and prepare specimens for laboratory transport or testing. Document collection information accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR) and agency databases. Monitor specimen integrity indicators, including temperature, appearance, and collection timing. Medical Assistant Responsibilities Greet and check in clients for appointments and services. Assist with client intake and completion of required forms and consents. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. Schedule appointments and coordinate client follow-up services. Assist providers with administrative and operational support activities. Maintain collection areas and client service areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Inventory and restock office and collection supplies. Support quality assurance and compliance activities. Administrative Responsibilities Maintain accurate client records and filing systems. Answer phones and provide customer service to clients, referral sources, and community partners. Process incoming and outgoing documentation. Assist with data entry and reporting requirements. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and quality improvement activities. Required Qualifications High school diploma required. Background Check Required Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program preferred. Minimum three (3) years of experience in healthcare, behavioral health, medical office operations, urinalysis collection, or a related field required. Experience conducting urine specimen collections and maintaining chain-of-custody documentation required. Knowledge of confidentiality requirements, including HIPAA. Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications. Strong organizational, documentation, and customer service skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Ability to follow chain-of-custody procedures and regulatory requirements. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and sit for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Ability to perform specimen collection and routine administrative duties. Ability to use standard office equipment and computer systems. Preferred Experience Experience working in outpatient behavioral health settings. Experience using electronic health record systems. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or other languages commonly spoken within the community.
Pay:
$26.00 - $28.00 per hour
