Certified Medical Assistant Full Job Description Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Back Office Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a Back Office Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing support to healthcare professionals and ensuring the smooth operation of our cardiology practice. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Responsibilities:
1. Escort patients into examining rooms in a timely manner. 2. Obtain and chart blood pressure values, weight, pulse, and update medication history. 3. Run EKG's, Event Monitors, and Blood Pressure monitors. 4. Provide patients with prescriptions, lab slips, and medication samples with instructions as ordered by physician. 5. Return prescription refill phone calls daily. Process refills electronically. 6. Screen incoming "medical" calls and refer as needed to physicians. Document all interactions in the EMR. Complete follow up as needed. 7. Assist physicians in returning patient phone calls. 8. Educate or assist patients with education material regarding procedures, tests, etc. 9. Assist patients to hospital ER, admitting, or call for ambulance transportation as needed. 10. Sanitize and clean exam rooms and equipment after use. Report service needs to Supervisor. 11. Review hospital lab reports, x-rays, EKG's, and all miscellaneous reports and route to physicians for review. When physician returns results with noted recommendations contact the patient by telephone, fax, or e-mail/mail results. 12. Complete disability, DMV, and insurance forms. 13. Travel to other offices, as needed. 14. Maintain patient confidentiality. 15. Perform any and all duties as assigned. 16. Cross train and cover other departments as needed.
Skills/Abilities:
1. CPR certification Must at atleast 2 years of progressive work in a medicak office. 2. Knowledge of medical terminology 3. Cardiology training (EKG's) desirable. 4. Familiarity with cardiac medications desirable. 5. Good interpersonal, written, and communication skills. 6. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and duties. 7. Schedule procedures.

1. Minimum of High School Diploma 2. Medical Assistant Certificate 3. Current California Driver License 4.
