Required between multiple clinic locations within the region as needed As a Float Medical Assistant, you will provide direct clinical support to physicians and healthcare providers while helping maintain efficient patient flow across multiple outpatient clinics. This role requires flexibility, excellent communication skills, and the ability to quickly adapt to different clinical environments while maintaining high standards of patient care. Key Responsibilities Room patients and prepare them for provider examinations. Obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical histories, medications, allergies, and chief complaints in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Assist providers during examinations and clinical procedures while maintaining proper sterile technique and patient safety. Administer injections, vaccinations, perform EKGs, point-of-care testing, and phlebotomy (when applicable). Coordinate patient flow to maximize clinic efficiency and reduce patient wait times. Respond to patient questions and provide basic education and follow-up care instructions. Accurately document patient encounters and clinical information in the EHR in a timely manner. Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked exam rooms while following infection prevention and safety protocols. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, front office staff, and other departments to ensure coordinated patient care. Assist with administrative responsibilities including referrals, prior authorizations, scheduling, and other clinic support tasks. Float between multiple clinic locations throughout Region 1 to provide staffing coverage and ensure continuity of patient care. Required Qualifications Current Medical Assistant Certification . Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association . Previous experience working in a clinical setting such as an outpatient clinic or medical office. Experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Strong understanding of clinical workflows and patient care processes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between clinic locations. Preferred Qualifications Experience in Internal Medicine or Family Practice . Bilingual in Spanish and English . Previous experience working in a float or multi-site healthcare role. Strong organizational and time management skills. Team-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Flexible and adaptable in changing clinical environments.
