Job Description

Be a part of a team that focuses on hope, transformation, and recovery every day! Join Casa Treatment Center as we support our patients suffering from addiction. Founded in 1967, Casa is one of the only treatment centers in Southern California designed to specifically meet the needs of women in recovery. Casa Treatment Center is a residential, outpatient, and sober living substance abuse facility headquartered in Pasadena. Casa is licensed by the State of California Department of Health Care Services and accredited as a behavioral health care program by the Joint Commission. Job Description The Medical Assistant reports directly to the Program Residential Site Coordinator and ensures proper medication management. Serves as the agency's liaison with medical professionals.
Responsibilities Client Drug and Alcohol Testing:
A licensed, certified, or registered employee will be conducting routine Urinalysis (UA), Breathalyzer testing and preparing of lab sheet and testing materials in compliance with Casa UA testing policy and procedure. Conducts non-technical routine laboratory tests and procedures under the direction of medical professional staff. Opens, separates, numbers, and arranges specimens for laboratory examination and trace results. Maintains simple laboratory records and inventory for supplies and reagents. Maintains laboratory equipment and supplies by cleaning and maintaining quality assurance records. Maintains a clean and sanitary work area in accordance with standard laboratory practice and procedures.
Medication Monitoring:
Observes and documents clients' self-administering of medications. Enters changes and updates in MAR as defined by the company's Policies and Procedures manual. Ensure Medication Policy and Procedures as outlined by Policy and Procedures, including but not limited to Destruction of medication, IMS compliance, management of controlled substances and Disposal of Illegal Substances. Intakes:
Log and Enter medication into EHR; update MAR, Reconcile and ensure client's medication needs are met as defined by companies Policies and Procedures Manual.
Client Health and Safety Check:
Daily monitoring, documenting, and reporting of client vitals.
Communication:
Serve as the liaison between Casa and outside prescribing professionals to ensure accurate and timely delivery of information
Medical Appointments:
Transports client for medically necessary appointments
Program Support:
Assists program leadership team as needed to ensure program service delivery, conduct groups as needed about
Health Education and Nutrition Project Support:
Works with the administrative and program leadership teams, as needed, to accomplish agency related projects. Supervisory Responsibilities N/A Education, Experience, and Credentials Required This position is best filled by individuals who are patient, flexible, detail oriented, organized, able to adapt to changing priorities, has strong interpersonal skills and is familiar with medication side effects. Minimum Requirements
  • Certificate of a completed Medical Assisting Program, Clinical, and Administration
  • Certified Medical Assistant, CMA, a plus
  • Registered as RADT/RAC or higher
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Valid CA Driver's License Physical Requirements
  • Lift and or move up to 30lbs.
