Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care across diverse medical settings. This energetic position involves supporting physicians and healthcare providers by performing clinical and administrative tasks that ensure smooth clinic operations. You will have the opportunity to work in outpatient clinics, hospital environments, and specialized units such as emergency medicine, dermatology, geriatrics, and surgical departments. Your enthusiasm and dedication will directly impact patient experiences and outcomes, making a meaningful difference every day. Duties Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems). Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately and efficiently. Prepare patients for examinations or procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding of the process. Support physicians during procedures by handing instruments, maintaining a sterile environment, and managing supplies. Administer medications or injections following proper protocols and physician instructions while adhering to basic life support (BLS) standards. Conduct diagnostic procedures including X-ray imaging or other laboratory tests in compliance with safety guidelines. Document clinical notes using ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases) for accurate billing and recordkeeping. Manage medical supplies inventory, sterilize equipment, and ensure clinical areas are clean and organized. Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, scheduling follow-ups, and coordinating care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Support hospital medicine teams in complex environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers with specialized skills like physiology knowledge or anatomy expertise. Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics, hospital settings, or specialty areas such as dermatology, internal medicine, or emergency medicine. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols. Experience working with EHR systems and proficiency in documentation practices. Ability to perform clinical tasks including vital signs measurement, intake assessments, X-ray procedures, and basic life support (BLS). Familiarity with hospital environments such as Geriatrics units, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), OR (Operating Room), or inpatient wards is highly desirable. Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence; compassionate approach to diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications like CPR are advantageous. Prior experience at Level I or Level II Trauma Centers is preferred for candidates interested in emergency medicine roles.
