Job Description

Overview Join our private physician's office as a Medical Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care in a private office setting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a range of endocrine diseases in young to elderly patients. As a Medical Assistant, you will support the office professionals by welcoming patients, providing clinical and administrative assistance, ensuring smooth operations, patient instruction on monitoring and medication administration. Responsibilities Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately. Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, height, and weight to monitor patient health status. Assist with clinical procedures like medication administration, instruction of patients on medication administration, glucose testing. Support doctor during examinations and minor procedures. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently to ensure accurate documentation of patient information, diagnoses (ICD coding), and treatment plans. Prepare patients for visits by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and addressing any concerns of English and Spanish-speaking patients. Provide medical administrative support including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance details, obtaining prescription details and authorizations, and managing patient flow in physician's office. Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology and ICD coding standards used in clinical documentation. Experience working in a private practice environment including rooming patients, answering questions by phone or in person, scheduling, injections and venipuncture. Proficiency with EHR systems and familiarity with office workflows. Ability to perform intake assessments, take vital signs accurately, and assist with medication administration safely. Knowledge of diabetes sensors and tools, lab tests, and radiology ordering procedures adds value to your skill set. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations across age groups instructing patients on self-management. Bilingual skills for Spanish-speaking patients.
Pay:
$23.00 - $26.00 per hour
