Essential duties include:
  • Act as an Ambassador to patients, referring physicians and other callers/guests
  • Monitor and schedule patient appointments as required
  • Process Medical Records requests
  • Maintain accurate patient medical records
  • Chart preparation for clinic
  • Provide paperwork and gather data for new patients
  • Review insurance information and verify benefits
  • Room patient; take vitals and help take patient history for providers
  • Other duties as assigned Knowledge, skills, and abilities (minimum qualifications):
  • HS diploma or equivalent required. Associates Degree preferred
  • Graduate of accredited Medical Assisting program, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Spanish speakers preferred (ability to read, write, speak and understand Spanish)
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Experience with an Electronic Medical Record
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Working knowledge of insurance (PPO, HMO, Medi-Cal, IEHP) The ideal candidate will be:

  • Responsive and timely While performing duties, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time; able to reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, bend or crouch.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Repetitive motion of upper body required for extended use of computer. Required specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus (may be corrected by the use of glasses/contacts).
