Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support across outpatient and inpatient settings, including dermatology, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, and more. Your proactive approach will ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate patient documentation, and exceptional service delivery. Duties Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic health record (EHR) systems. Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates with precision. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures in outpatient clinics or hospital settings, including dermatology, geriatrics, or surgical units. Support clinical staff with tasks such as medication administration, specimen collection, X-ray procedures, and basic life support (BLS) when needed. Document clinical notes accurately using medical terminology and ICD coding to ensure proper billing and recordkeeping. Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers by explaining procedures and answering questions professionally. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to safety standards and infection control protocols. Qualifications Prior experience in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, outpatient clinics, or medical-surgical units is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and ICD coding systems. Hands-on experience with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as X-ray operation or medication administration are a plus. Ability to perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with intake procedures, and supporting inpatient or outpatient care processes efficiently. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients in PICU settings. $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
