Full Time:

Our Multi-Specialty Group practice is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant to work in our Sorrento Valley clinic providing support to our Dermatology, Family Practice and Surgical Specialists. Applicants must be EMR and computer literate, detail oriented, dependable, punctual and able to function professionally within a fast-paced environment, often juggling tasks from multiple providers. Applicants must possess both dermatology and primary care experience to qualify.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Room patient; record vital signs; document medical history, medications, and drug allergies; double check prior authorization status. Prepare patients for examinations and medical tests or procedures. Communicate, observe, report and document patient condition/responses to provider. Scribe for provider throughout examination/procedure and assist in EMR documentation. Assist provider with surgical procedures, log pathology specimens, track changes in patient condition. Document any lab or x-ray results for provider review, set up/stock exam rooms, prepare and process instruments (including autoclaving same). Administer topical, oral or intramuscular medications per orders. Provide pre and post procedure medical instructions to patient. Other duties typically delegated to an accomplished MA and/or as directed by provider or manager.

Requirements for the position:

At least 3 years of experience as a CMA in an outpatient setting. A strong demonstrated work ethic and the willingness to learn and upgrade skills on a continuing basis. A commitment to establish and maintain effective working relationships with medical staff, coworkers, managers and the public while delivering exceptional patient care. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. A high level of attention to detail with the ability to problem solve. Bilingual fluency (English & Spanish) is a huge plus. Compensation will be industry competitive, graded by the mix of experience and skills referenced above.
