Job Description

About True Life Center At True Life Center, we see ourselves as part of the next evolution of mental health care—where treatment is collaborative, integrated, and responsive to the full complexity of human experience. We are an integrative behavioral health center specializing in Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization (PHP) levels of care. Our team works in close coordination to support each patient through a unified clinical approach that bridges psychiatry, psychotherapy, and body-based and experiential modalities. Care is delivered by a multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, acupuncturists, and movement and somatic specialists. Together, we focus on helping patients stabilize, reconnect, and build sustainable pathways forward—meeting each individual where they are and advancing care through shared clinical understanding and consistent collaboration. Who We Are Seeking We are seeking a highly organized, trauma-informed Medical Assistant with an interest or background in mental health. You possess a grounded, compassionate, and gentle approach, treating patients with a heart-centered presence while maintaining strict professional boundaries and administrative precision. You are dedicated to learning, thrive in a collaborative team environment, and are highly comfortable receiving feedback. Because this role heavily interfaces with our nursing and psychiatric staff, you must excel at prioritizing administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment, possess exceptional attention to detail, and meticulously follow through on directives until completion. What to Expect This is a vital support role that bridges the gap between clinical directives and administrative execution. You will work closely under the guidance of our nursing team to ensure the psychiatric department runs seamlessly. Because we maintain a low weekly census caseload, you will have the time necessary to focus on thorough compliance tracking, manual documentation, and interdepartmental collaboration. Primary Responsibilities Act as the primary administrative hand to the nursing staff; receive and execute non-clinical directives to keep the department organized. Meticulously log, track, and update patient medical histories, progress notes, and administrative charts within the EHR. Maintain extensive, audit-ready Excel/Google sheets and digital logs to track patient attendance, compliance, and department metrics. Act as an administrative liaison for the psychiatric department, managing scheduling logistics, file routing, and communication updates between the medical team and the broader multidisciplinary staff. Direct Clinical Support (Limited Scope) Comfortably and accurately obtain and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, etc.) prior to psychiatric sessions. Facilitate and oversee Urine Drug Screen (UDS) collection following strict facility protocols and chain-of-custody documentation. Set up, monitor, and track patient data utilizing breathalyzer testing devices, ensuring all readings are accurately logged. Compliance & Compliance Support Assist the Health and Safety Officer with administrative paperwork, tracking, and compliance audits for The Joint Commission Accreditation . Gather documentation, organize medical charts, and assist in compiling data required for insurance utilization reviews. Track and manage inventory for medical and testing supplies (UDS cups, PPE, office supplies). What Applicants Must Bring Completed Medical Assistant (MA) certificate from an accredited program, or equivalent certified behavioral health coordinator experience strongly preferred. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a day treatment, residential, or outpatient medical facility (psychiatric or substance use disorder setting highly preferred). Strong proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and digital tracking systems (Excel, Google Workspace). Current CPR and First Aid certification. Ideal Candidate Experience with behavioral health software. Prior experience managing tracking and data monitoring. A strong desire for longevity and career growth within an expanding organization.
