Job Description

Are you a Medical Assistant ready to use your skills to positively impact your community? If that's you, consider joining the Davis Street Community Clinic as our next Medical Assistant ! The Medical Assistant performs clinical duties under the direction of the MA Supervisor, Staff Physicians and Nurse Practitioners. Clinical duties including data collection and recording, administration of vaccines and medications, medical records keeping, limited patient education, labeling and collecting laboratory specimens. Full-time @ 37.5 Hours per week 2 Open Positions with
Different Schedules:
Monday-Friday, 9:15AM-5:15PM Monday-Friday, 10:00AM-6:00PM Medical Assistant starts at $25/hr Certified Medical Assistant starts at $27/hr
Note:
To qualify for the CMA rate, candidates must have an active CA CMA license number and expiration date meaning they've successfully passed the CMA exam administered by the AAMA (or an equivalent certifying body).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for greeting patients into the exam room areas and driving a positive patient customer service experience Prepares patients for provider, including taking medical history, medication reconciliation, vital signs and performing required testing Performs various medical assistant procedures, including but not limited to: blood draws, finger sticks for hemoglobin checks; ear washes; nebulizer treatments; urine dipsticks; specimen collection for throat and/or urine cultures; wound cleaning; PPD placement; INR; glucose; HCG; and Hemoglobin A1C, vision and audiology screening Prepare and administer immunizations as directed by the provider and documents in electronic health record Ensures that all logs, forms record and charts are complete thorough and accurate Provides limited patient education per providers' instruction and follow-up care instructions Disinfects and prepares treatment rooms, equipment and supplies in a timely manner to ensure optimum flow and maintain infection control Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies Performs all duties and functions in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations Effective communication with Patients, Medical Providers and other Administrative staff members Ability to efficiently and effectively function with other MAs in a fast-paced, stressful environment while delivering high customer service and high quality of work Proactively helps teammates during down time Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Training program, certification preferred Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical setting as a Medical Assistant required Current
CPR / BLS
certification Experience in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook]) and EMR Commitment to the mission and values of
Davis Street Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
