Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Administrative Assistant to support our healthcare team in delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in medical administrative support, with experience in various clinical settings including outpatient clinics, hospital medicine, and emergency medicine. This role involves managing patient interactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a comprehensive understanding of medical terminology and physiology. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage patient intake processes, including collecting vital signs and updating medical histories. Schedule appointments, coordinate follow-up visits, and manage provider calendars to optimize clinic workflow. Assist healthcare professionals with documentation, including ICD coding and recording patient information in EHR systems. Support clinical staff by preparing examination rooms, handling specimen collection, and assisting with basic procedures such as medication administration and X-ray preparation. Maintain accurate patient records, ensure confidentiality, and comply with healthcare regulations related to patient data management. Facilitate communication between patients and providers, addressing inquiries related to appointment scheduling or medical instructions. Support inpatient and outpatient care activities across various specialties such as dermatology, geriatrics, internal medicine, or emergency medicine as needed. Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to effectively assist in clinical documentation and patient care processes. Qualifications Prior experience working in hospital or clinic environments, particularly within hospital medicine or urgent care settings. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding standards for accurate documentation. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems used for patient data management. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred to support emergency response readiness. Experience supporting diverse medical specialties including dermatology, geriatrics, internal medicine, or surgical units such as OR or PICU is advantageous. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in fast-paced healthcare settings. Excellent communication skills to facilitate clear interactions with patients and healthcare teams while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
