Job Description

Ro Health is looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant (MA) to join our healthcare team at a California State Prison! This position plays a vital role in providing essential healthcare support to incarcerated individuals, ensuring a safe, hygienic, and therapeutic environment within the facility.

Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts, AM Higher Pay for
Travelers:
Additional compensation for those commuting 50+ miles from the facility

Contract Qualifications:
Active Medical Assistant certification from one of the following boards: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) American Medical Technologists (AMT) California Certifying Board of Medical Assistants (CCBMA) Multiskilled Medical Certification Institute, Inc. (MMCI) National Center of Competency Testing (NCCT) American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) At least 1 year of MA experience BLS Certification from the American Heart Association Ability to pass a strict background check Strong patient care and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
Assist healthcare providers with patient assessments and minor medical procedures Perform routine clinical tasks, including taking vital signs, documenting medical history, and preparing patients for exams Administer medications and injections under supervision (as permitted by law) Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for analysis Maintain medical records and input data into electronic health systems Support infection control protocols and ensure medical supplies are stocked and organized Provide patient education on prescribed treatments and health maintenance Ensure compliance with facility policies, HIPAA regulations, and facility safety standards Why Join Ro Health?
