About the role 6 week paid Externship program What you'll do Apply Medical Assistant knowledge and skills in a real clinical environment assist the Physician, PA, or NP in support of medical care of urgent care patients. Day to day activities will vary from triage, answering phones, taking medical histories, to performing lab work. Practice clinical and administrative tasks under direct supervision Develop confidence, efficiency, and accuracy in patient care Gain exposure to daily clinic workflows and patient flow management Strengthen communication, teamwork, and professionalism Demonstrate readiness for entry-level Medical Assistant employment Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Current enrollment in or recent completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program 1-2 letters of recommendation of endorsement from accredited Medical Assistant Program supervisor or lead BLS/CPR certification preferred
