We are looking for an experienced MA with pediatric experience. Job Purpose:
The Medical Assistant at is responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to healthcare professionals, ensuring the smooth operation of the medical office and delivering high-quality patient care. The role involves assisting with patient examinations, managing patient records, and performing routine clinical tasks under the supervision of licensed medical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures. Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and well-stocked. Record patient medical history and vital signs accurately. Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers. Schedule patient appointments and manage the medical office calendar. Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality and accuracy. Conduct routine laboratory tests and handle specimens. Provide patient education and support regarding medical procedures and treatments. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
Required Experience:
Minimum of two years of experience working as a medical assistant in a healthcare setting. Pediatric experience is preferred Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical billing procedures. Athena preferred
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Proficient in performing clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering injections, and assisting with examinations. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate patient documentation and record-keeping. Capability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures. Competency in using medical equipment and technology relevant to the role.
