Job Description

Medical Assistant (Part-Time or Full-Time) About Us We are a growing Internal Medicine practice specializing in Geriatric Medicine with offices located in Camarillo and Ventura. Our team currently consists of two physicians and two nurse practitioners dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to our patients. We are seeking a motivated and dependable Medical Assistant to join our team. Position Summary The Medical Assistant will support providers in delivering exceptional patient care while assisting with both clinical and administrative duties. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to thrive in a fast-paced medical environment.
Responsibilities Clinical Duties:
Assist providers with patient care and minor procedures Accurately obtain and document patient medical histories, vital signs, and other pertinent information in the electronic health record (EHR) Perform medication reconciliation Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers Perform EKGs, pulmonary function testing (PFTs), ear lavages, and other clinical procedures as needed Collect laboratory specimens and perform basic laboratory testing Prepare exam rooms and ensure they are clean, sanitized, and properly stocked Prepare patient charts for upcoming appointments Complete clinical tasks, including prescription refills, reviewing results, processing orders, and responding to patient portal messages Process prior authorizations for medications Contact patients regarding hospital follow-up appointments and transitional care management
Administrative Duties:
Greet and check in patients in a friendly, professional manner Schedule and coordinate patient appointments Verify insurance eligibility and benefits Maintain accurate and confidential patient records within the EHR system Answer and direct incoming phone calls Perform general administrative duties, including filing, faxing, scanning, and data entry Qualifications Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting required Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems Ability to accurately obtain and document vital signs Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment Commitment to providing outstanding patient care and customer service What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience Opportunities for professional growth and development Supportive and collaborative work environment The opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our patients If you are passionate about patient care and enjoy working in a team-oriented healthcare environment, we encourage you to apply. $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
