Gastroenterology of the Rockies is a rapidly growing medical practice that specializes in digestive health conditions. Our medical team is comprised of 18 physicians and eight advanced practice providers. We operate eight clinics and five Ambulatory Surgery Centers throughout the Denver and Boulder area—with our main office in Louisville, CO. Unlike other healthcare organizations, we're able to offer work-life balance where staff can enjoy time off on weekends and holidays.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Acts as the patient's advocate to ensure optimal patient satisfaction and quality care. Communicates in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner that preserves patient rights and dignity. Rooms patients in a timely and accurate manner; and follows established processes and procedures. Interacts with and assists medical providers to complete each patient interaction. Any event that involves patient dissatisfaction is documented and referred to a lead person, supervisor, or manager. Contact patients to provide the results of tests, or other appropriate information. Able to educate patients about GI specific conditions, tests and medications using language, terms, and methods that the patient can easily understand. Ensure that patients receive appropriate written or verbal information. Asks questions and seeks clarification from medical providers and RNs when appropriate. Document all patient interactions in a timely and accurate manner using different computer systems. Verifies that all documentation is complete, concise, and accurately reflects patient care and task completion. Send pre-certifications and schedules patients for appointments and/or procedures. Ensure the information is coordinated with all appropriate departments and outside organizations. Addresses tasks in a timely manner (within 7 days, as soon as possible for urgent tasks). Able to prioritize tasks appropriately. Ensures all electronic charting is complete, accurate and professional. Participate in staff meetings. Assists in developing ways to meet department goals in a more effective and efficient manner and is an active part of the implementation of new processes and procedures. Research lab and imaging recall testing and executes appropriate orders for patients. Serves as a team player to ensure center optimization and efficiency. Perform other tasks, projects and assignments as requested by management. Expectations of ourStaff:
Maintains up-to-date knowledge base within assigned areas of responsibility. Develop new methods and modify existing processes to streamline tasks and improve efficiency. Maintains confidentiality of all companies and patient information in all situations and activities. Establishes and maintains professional and positive relationships with all patients, internal staff and external business partners.Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of a certified Medical Assistant Program, Certified Nursing Assistant Program, Emergency Medical Technician Program, OR college graduate with science major. High School Diploma required. Experience in a medical office preferred. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to interact effectively and professionally with patients, medical providers, and other staff members. Supports teamwork mindset and contributes to achieving company goals. Experience with some type of electronic health records (EHR) is required. Intermediate computer skills, with experience in medical software. Intergy preferred.Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to walk short distances. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.Equal Opportunity Employer Pay:
