What You Bring, Job/Education Requirements In addition to bringing your clinical and professional commitment to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: One year experience, preferred. Clinical skills, front office and knowledge base specific to specialty. High School Diploma required. Diploma from an accredited medical assistant's program, preferred. Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant preferred. BLS from the American Heart Association required. Essential Functions Duties will include greeting patients, answering busy phone lines, taking messages, patient scheduling and follow-up, data entry, collecting demographic/insurance information, collecting insurance copays and account balances in addition to daily tasks Comfortable with computer programs, knowledge of medical terms and insurance, the ability to problem solve, and experience with electronic medical records all positives for this position Attention to detail, positive attitude, willingness to learn and a passion for customer service are all attributes needed for this important position Customer service, positive attitude, willingness to learn, and flexibility in job duties are great attributes Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor, or manager Experience in an Orthopedic environment preferred Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms and patients for examination. Cleans and sterilizes instruments. Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials. Schedules appointments and makes follow up phone calls to patients. Performs administrative tasks, completes appropriate client company and OSHA regulated forms, and provides assistance at front desk. Keys data into computer to maintain clinic and patient records. May require other duties as assigned. Administers medications and medical treatments competently as directed by a Physician or Licensed Independent Practitioner. Comfortable with electronic medical records (EMR). Identifies equipment that needs repair and brings it to the attention of the clinic manager. Maintains a clean and safe environment and follow infection control procedures. Maintains patient privacy and confidential patient information. Participates in follow up phone calls and follow up patient visits. We are an equal opportunity employer
