In person (Colorado Springs, CO 80903) Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Part-Time Medical Assistant to join our dynamic podiatry practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our podiatric physicians and ensuring high-quality foot and ankle care in a fast-paced clinical environment. This position requires a strong blend of clinical skills and administrative efficiency.
Duties Clinical Support:
Assist podiatrists with patient examinations, lower extremity procedures, and minor in-office surgeries.
Patient Prep:
Prepare patients for examinations, take vitals, and document chief complaints (e.g., foot pain, wound care needs, diabetic foot checks).
Specialized Podiatric Care:
Remove sutures/staples, assist with lower extremity casting or splinting, and fit patients for specialized Durable Medical Equipment (DME) such as surgical shoes, night splints, and walking boots.
Administrative Support:
Manage patient check-ins, schedule follow-up appointments, and accurately maintain electronic health records (EHR).
Clinic Maintenance:
Maintain strict cleanliness, sterilization of podiatric instruments, and organization of examination rooms.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure total compliance with safety protocols and
OSHA/HIPAA
guidelines.
Patient Communication:
Provide exceptional customer service, explaining post-procedure care and instructions clearly to patients.
Requirements Medical MA Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience required (experience in podiatry, orthopedics, or wound care is a major plus).
Specialized Knowledge:
Solid understanding of lower extremity anatomy and medical terminology.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Certification:
Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) is highly desirable.
Location:
Must be able to commute to Colorado Springs, CO 80903 (or relocate before starting work). Benefits (Part-Time) Paid time off (pro-rated) Employee assistance program 401(k) / 401(k) matching (if meeting hourly requirements)
