We have 8 employees including 3 providers and 4 clinic staff who all work very closely together. We serve a community of patients ages 13-97 years old, and have long-standing relationships with our patients and their families. We are looking for a medical assistant to join our team and help make a difference in our community! Being such a small practice, we highly value positivity in the workplace, as well as a willingness to communicate clearly and effectively with the rest of the team. The ideal medical assistant candidate will be a team-player that is hardworking, adaptable, and eager to learn. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and working well in a team environment. Prior experience in healthcare is a must. Experience in other customer service roles (retail, food service, etc.) is appreciated as well.
Responsibilities Hours:
Full time
  • 4 ½ days per week: Tu, W, Th, F
  • 7:45 am-4:45 pm with a 30 minute lunch break, ½ day Mondays
  • 7:45 am-12:15 pm Working with/documenting in EHR (Epic) Rooming patients: collect and document patient histories, obtain vital signs, give succinct patient reports to providers Assisting providers with in-office procedures as needed Performing minor procedures/testing, IM/SC injections (will train) Performing lab draws (will train) Answering/triaging patient calls, following up on missed calls, returning voicemails, routing/responding to messages in the patient portal Faxing documents (clinical notes, referrals, orders, etc.
). Ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information as required under HIPAA laws. Assisting office staff as needed with keeping the office clean and presentable (cleaning floors, wiping down countertops, watering plants, etc.) Skills Current BLS Certification (re-certification is provided by clinic every 2 years) Understanding of and compliance with HIPAA laws (certification provided yearly) Proficiency in using an Electronic Health Record (EHR) is preferred, with experience using the Epic EHR being ideal. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinic. Familiarity with clinical terminology. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with both patients and coworkers. Ability to work independently while being part of a team-oriented environment. Hourly rate:
starting $ 18/hour
DOE 401K
fund with 3% matching 20 days of PTO yearly including major holidays (New Year Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Christmas Day). Accrual begins 90 days after start date.
