Full Job Description Company & Position Summary:
Critical Care, Pulmonary and Sleep Associates is a multispecialty private physician practice, providing Critical Care, Pulmonary and Sleep medical services to the Denver metro area for over 40 years. Our dedicated team of Board Certified Critical Care, Pulmonary and Sleep Physicians along with our skilled clinical and administrative staff exclusively serve nine Common Spirit and AdventHealth Hospital ICU's and multiple outpatient clinic locations spanning Colorado's front range. We are currently seeking a Medical Assistant to join our committed team of professionals. The Medical Assistant position is responsible for supporting our Pulmonary and Sleep Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers within our outpatient clinics. Under direct supervision, Medical Assistants perform a variety of routine clinical services to deliver safe and appropriate patient care, within the scope of their practice and established policies and procedures. It is necessary that within this role, employees cultivate and support a strong team culture, as well as a collaborative environment centered on consistently delivering exceptional patient care.
Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:
Room patients in professional and timely manner. Complete vitals, perform blood draws, give injections, and obtain specimens, and perform clinical tasks such as spirometry, oxygen titration, etc.as directed by Physicians and APPs. Reconcile patient chart with medical history, immunizations, medications, and other relevant medical information. Completes chart preparation to ensure accurate and up-to-date patient information before visits. Assist Patient Care Coordinator team to ensure smooth operational flow of the clinic schedule. Manages orders, including prior authorizations. Manages prescription refill requests (excluding specialty meds and controlled substances). Answer incoming phone calls, return voicemails, and route calls to appropriate staff members. Assist with scheduling follow-up appointments. Clean and maintain clinical/procedural equipment, exam rooms and work stations. Prepare exam rooms with necessary supplies, while ensuring supplies are properly stocked. This position may require travel to our other outpatient clinics in the Denver-metro area as needed. Other duties as assigned by Clinic Leadership. Skills, Education and/or
Work Experience Requirements:
Successful graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program required. Approximately 1+ years Medical Assisting experience. RMA or CMA preferred. Respect patient privacy by maintaining confidentiality in accordance to HIPAA requirements. Excellent organizations and time management skills. Patient centered focus. Proficient in Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to drive between clinic locations for meetings. Ability to sit for extended time periods. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
Compensation:
