Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of medical administrative procedures. This role involves managing patient interactions, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring smooth office workflows. The successful applicant will be instrumental in delivering exceptional patient service while adhering to healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards. Duties Greet patients promptly and professionally, providing exceptional front desk support and phone etiquette. Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to facilitate seamless billing processes. Manage medical billing and collections, including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and Medicare claims processing. Maintain accurate and organized medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards. Assist with documentation review, data entry, and updating patient information within various EMR systems. Support medical office management tasks such as filing, faxing, and managing multi-line phone systems to ensure efficient communication. Provide excellent patient service by addressing inquiries, coordinating care plans, and supporting intake procedures and assisting in the clinical setting. Qualifications Prior experience in an office environment or healthcare setting is helpful, with clinic or dental clinic experience preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems helpful Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical billing practices helpful. Familiarity with health insurance processes including Medicare verification and insurance claims submission. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and health information management software. Ability to handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining confidentiality. Spanish language proficiency required. Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Exceptional organizational skills combined with clerical experience in office management and front desk operations. $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
