Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care, support clinical operations, and ensure smooth administrative workflows across various medical settings. Duties Assist with patient intake by collecting comprehensive medical histories, updating personal information, and documenting symptoms accurately. Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation levels to support clinical assessments. Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort throughout their visit. Support physicians and healthcare providers with clinical tasks including medication administration, wound dressing changes, and basic life support (BLS) procedures. Operate and maintain Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems efficiently to document patient encounters, test results, and treatment plans clearly and accurately. Conduct basic diagnostic procedures such as X-ray imaging in outpatient or inpatient settings, ensuring safety protocols are followed. Assist with specialized clinical areas including dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, medical-surgical units, emergency medicine environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or OR (Operating Room) settings. Support hospital medicine teams by managing inpatient documentation, ICD coding for diagnoses, and coordinating care transitions. Perform routine laboratory tasks like specimen collection or processing as needed in hospital or outpatient clinics. Ensure compliance with hospital policies regarding medication administration and patient safety protocols in various clinical environments including urgent care or outpatient clinics. Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding standards essential for accurate documentation and billing processes. Proven experience in dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, or outpatient settings with familiarity in inpatient care environments. Hands-on experience with EHR systems for efficient data entry and retrieval of patient information. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically across diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients in PICU settings. Ability to perform clinical tasks such as vital signs collection, intake assessments, medication administration, X-ray procedures, and basic life support (BLS). Knowledge of hospital experience requirements including Level I Trauma Center protocols or Level II Trauma Center procedures is preferred. Familiarity with medical-surgical practices and internal medicine workflows to support comprehensive patient care delivery. Experience supporting clinic operations in outpatient environments with a focus on patient comfort and safety. Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced settings such as emergency medicine or urgent care facilities while maintaining accuracy under pressure. Strong organizational skills for managing multiple responsibilities including documentation accuracy in EHR systems and compliance with healthcare regulations. $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
