Job Description

Pediatric Certified Medical Assistant Non-Exempt, Full Time Position Department:
Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine A great job opportunity for a certified or registered Medical Assistant who is interested in Pediatrics. We are seeking a Pediatric Medical Assistant to join our Department of Pediatrics at Community Health Services (CHS). The Pediatric Medical Assistant will help deliver comprehensive quality patient care according to standards of practice to children and adolescents. The Clinical Director of the department is Dr. Zeev Harel, a former Brown University Medical School Professor of Pediatrics. Levels of employees' engagement and satisfaction in this department are above national average.
Responsibilities:
Provide care to children and adolescents, in collaboration with department physicians, pediatric nurse practitioners, and pediatric physician assistant. Assist pediatric providers with patient preparations and procedures as needed. Accurately document all aspects of patient care in the medical chart in a timely manner. Coordinate patient care with team members, other departments, and community agencies as necessary. Participate in departmental quality improvement activities and CHS committees. Adhere to all CHS' policies and procedures regarding documentation of medication and information provided to patients. The incumbent in this position should: Be a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program Be Certified or Registered Medical Assistant from a national certifying body (e.g
AAMA, NCCT, NHA, AMT
) Have at least two years of successful medical assisting experience in a healthcare setting, however recent certified graduates are encouraged to apply Have demonstrated success delivering high quality patient care, including taking vital signs, appropriately collecting and handling specimens, and performing in-office laboratory and diagnostic tests consistent with competency level Be comfortable with or be able quickly to learn electronic practice management systems Have the willingness and ability to work as part of a team and to demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism All candidates for employment at CHS must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
