Medical Assistant - Urology supports both patients and providers in a high-volume specialty setting, assisting with clinical tasks such as vital signs, catheter care, in-office procedures, specimen collection, and patient education. Prepares exam rooms, updates electronic health records, and ensures efficient patient flow throughout the day. Collaborates closely with the care team to deliver timely, respectful, and high-quality care. Ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable with the unique needs of urologic patients.What you will do:
Prepares exam and treatment rooms. Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Obtains pertinent history, enters into the medical record including chief complaint, medical and surgical history, allergies, medications, and appropriate review of systems, and takes/documents patient vital signs. Processes and files all lab/diagnostic test results, correspondence, clinical notes in patients' chart after they have been reviewed by the physician. Coordinates patient flow in the office. Collaborates with receptionist to make certain that patients are seen in a timely and efficient manner. Assists front office personnel by answering the telephone, scheduling patient appointments, and other tasks as needed.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalentrequired Minimum of six (6) months of related work experience is required Knowledge of medical assisting normally associated with obtaining an Associate's Degree in Medical Assistance is preferred, National Certification as a Medical Assistant a plusPosition Highlights and Benefits:
