Job Description

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a contract opportunity in Altamonte Springs, FL. This role is responsible for providing both clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced primary care environment while delivering exceptional patient care and customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong phlebotomy skills, experience supporting physicians during examinations and procedures, and the ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining professionalism and HIPAA compliance.

  • Primary Responsibilities
  • Clinical Duties
  • + Administer medications, immunizations, EKGs, ear washes, and other patient care services under physician supervision + Assist physicians with examinations, treatments, and minor office procedures + Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, blood draws, spinning, prepping, and laboratory processing + Prepare and apply dressings and assist with patient education and self-care instructions + Conduct phlebotomy and maintain accurate laboratory logs and records + Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment and inventory levels + Ensure proper sterilization of instruments and cleanliness of exam and treatment rooms + Follow standard infection control precautions and OSHA compliance procedures + Provide emergency treatment within scope of practice when necessary •Patient Care & Administrative Support•+ Greet and room patients in a professional and courteous manner + Prepare patients for examinations and procedures + Contact patients regarding test results, physician instructions, and appointment scheduling + Answer phones, triage calls, and assist with front office responsibilities + Maintain accurate patient medical records in accordance with company policies and HIPAA regulations + Enter test requisitions, patient encounters, and documentation into computer systems + Act as liaison between laboratory service providers and the medical center + Perform additional duties and support functions as assigned •Required Qualifications•+ High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required + Current nationally recognized Certified Medical Assistant certification required, or ability to obtain certification within 180 days of employment + Current BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA) or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross), or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment •Preferred Qualifications•+ Minimum of one (1) year of Medical Assistant experience in a primary care setting + Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding •Required Skills & Competencies•+ Strong phlebotomy and specimen handling skills + Ability to perform EKGs + Knowledge of medical terminology and medical equipment + Ability to document findings accurately and maintain patient records + Excellent customer service and patient communication skills + Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a high-paced environment + Computer literacy and experience with electronic medical records + Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control procedures + Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively + Ability to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing •Additional Information•+ No travel required + No floating between locations + No home health or patient home visits required •Why work for Adecco?
