In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support to healthcare providers across outpatient and inpatient settings, including specialized areas such as dermatology, emergency medicine, and hospital medicine. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs to facilitate accurate diagnoses. Prepare examination rooms and assist during procedures, ensuring all equipment and supplies are ready and sterile. Conduct basic diagnostic tasks such as taking X-rays, measuring vital signs, and supporting medication administration under supervision. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently by documenting patient encounters, updating medical histories, and coding diagnoses with ICD (International Classification of Diseases) codes. Support patient service efforts by answering questions, providing education on treatments or medications, and ensuring a welcoming environment. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in diverse settings such as outpatient clinics, hospital units—including ICU (Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and Level I & II trauma centers—to deliver high-quality care. Perform administrative duties like appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate medical records. Requirements A strong foundation in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS) is essential for success in this role. Prior experience in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or outpatient clinics—especially within Level I or Level II trauma centers—is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with EHR systems and medical-surgical procedures across various specialties including geriatrics, internal medicine, dermatology, and urgent care. Experience with X-ray procedures or OR (Operating Room) support is a plus. Must possess excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as emergency departments or inpatient units is crucial. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to hospital experience or specific clinical skills are advantageous. Candidates should be adaptable team players eager to contribute to a collaborative healthcare environment dedicated to exceptional patient outcomes.
