Job Description

JOB TITLE
: Medical Assistant/ Front & Back Office
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES
: The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting with all functions associated with the front and back office and as a member of the patient care team. The employee must be an effective communicator in written and verbal communication and have the ability to work effectively with medical staff, authorizations, external agencies, and patients.
Responsibilities Include:
Pathology reports Operative Note Management Clinical staff signoff Chart Checks Unbilled Reports Subpoena request Accounts receivable (post payment and collections)-End of Day packets Oversee/order office supplies. Assist Administrator with Credentialing of MD's and clinical staff Day-to-day necessary tasks Provide back-up support for the Front Office as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
: Team Player, Self-starter, motivated individual 1-2 years of experience in healthcare background Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures Comfortable using computer systems, programs, and EMR Knowledge of medical terminology Must be able to multi - task Must be able to express compassion and kindness to patients calling and being seen in the office Must maintain a professional and upbeat attitude Skill in written and verbal communication and customer relations Ability to work with effectively with medical staff, management, authorizations, external agencies and patients Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment Normal busy office environment with much patient contact Occasional flexibility with hours of operation. Bilingual preferred Medical Assistant Certification preferred
