Responsibilities:
Greeting patients and assisting with check-in procedures to ensure a smooth patient flow. Taking and recording vital signs, medical histories, and patient symptoms with accuracy and compassion. Preparing examination rooms and ensuring all medical instruments and supplies are clean, organized, and ready for use. Assisting healthcare providers during patient examinations, procedures, and treatments. Administering basic clinical tasks such as specimen collection, injections, or wound care as directed. Maintaining meticulous documentation of patient interactions and medical records in compliance with HIPAA and facility policies. Managing appointment scheduling and patient follow-up, ensuring timely and efficient clinic operations. Bilingual communication with patients in English and Spanish to improve patient rapport and care quality. Managing inventory and restocking supplies as needed, maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment.
Required Skills:
Proven experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a clinical setting. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical procedures. Ability to accurately record patient information and handle sensitive data with discretion. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic office software. Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail. Compassionate demeanor, with a commitment to providing patient-centered care. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Nice to
Have Skills:
Certification from a recognized Medical Assistant program (e.g., CMA, RMA). Experience working in a busy outpatient or primary care clinic. Knowledge of additional languages or cultural competency skills. Basic knowledge of phlebotomy or injection procedures beyond routine tasks.
Preferred Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification as a Medical Assistant highly preferred. At least 1-2 years of clinical medical assisting experience is ideal.
Other Requirements:
Availability to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Valid certification and licensure as a Medical Assistant, if applicable. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift light to moderate loads in a clinical environment. Must pass background checks and health screenings. Reliable transport and punctuality are essential.
