Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. In this vital role, you will support physicians and healthcare providers by performing clinical and administrative tasks that ensure smooth operations within outpatient, inpatient, and specialized medical settings. Your expertise in various medical disciplines—including dermatology, emergency medicine, internal medicine, and hospital medicine—will help deliver exceptional patient experiences while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) efficiently. Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration to support accurate diagnosis and treatment plans. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and maintaining a professional bedside manner. Support clinical procedures including medication administration, X-ray processing, basic life support (BLS), and assisting with minor surgeries or procedures in outpatient or inpatient settings. Manage medical documentation with precision, including ICD coding for diagnoses, documenting procedures, and updating patient records to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Perform clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, managing referrals, and coordinating with hospital or clinic administrative teams. Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols. Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in various healthcare settings such as hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or specialty practice such as Vascular Surgery. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and ICD coding to accurately support clinical documentation. Hands-on experience with EHR systems for data entry and retrieval; familiarity with a private practice is helpful. Ability to perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with medication administration, X-ray processing, and supporting emergency procedures when necessary. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to hospital or OR experience are a plus. Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse patient populations.
