This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, strong clinical skilled compassionate Medical Assistant or Nurse looking for a full time, Monday - Friday, 8:00-5:00 position for our Fort Pierce and Port St. Lucie Allergy Clinical Department. The professional candidate must be multitask oriented, motivated, and needs to be able to handle a high volume of patients, be a self-starter and willing to learn all aspects of Allergy and ENT.
Description:
Functions include: the ability to interact with patients for 20-40 minutes, following allergy protocols, answering patient calls, taking patient histories, giving injections, performing allergy skin tests, obtaining authorizations, preparing exam rooms, sterilization techniques, etc. Reconcile existing information for established patients manually or via patient portal. i.e. past medical history, current medications, surgeries and family history. Ensure appropriate boxes are indicated in EMR to document the scribe acknowledgement. Provide briefing of each patient prior to physician entering the exam room. Reviews charts at the end of patient encounters, verifying accuracy before physician signs off on chart note. Identify any discrepancies and/or missing information. Obtaining proper consent forms and ensuring proper scope of practice is followed. Sterilize instruments in accordance with CDC, ENTAAF and if applicable with Autoclave manufacturer requirements i.e. cold sterilization autoclave.
Requirements:
Minimum TWO years' HANDS ON Clinical experience, working knowledge of medical terminology, strong written and verbal communication skills with a clear speaking voice, strong interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, the ability to interact professionally at all times with patients, physicians and team members. Must be current with your License or Medical Assistant certification or willing to participate and pass our in house 1 year employee commitment training course and National test. Allergy experience is a plus. Must be able to travel as needed between the office locations. Mileage reimbursement may be given.
Physical Demands:
Coordination, manual, and physical dexterity sufficient to properly and adequately use various items of medical equipment and office equipment as required of the position or directed by the Clinical Manager. The position may involve sitting, standing, bending, and stooping. Incumbent must also be able to assist patients in transferring from wheelchair to an Allergy Testing chair, when necessary. Responsibilities may also require the incumbent to travel between ENTAAF offices for support purposes. The incumbent must also be capable of lifting up to 25 pounds. Working Conditions:
Normal medical office environment; this environment may involve dealing with a high traffic volume of people and stressful situations requiring the ability to think clearing; respond quickly; and to be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Periodic training and administration workshops and meetings specific to Allergy may be scheduled. Incumbents are expected to attend and participate as part of their regular job responsibilities.
