Job Description

Overview Under direct supervision, performs routine laboratory analytical procedures related to preparing and storing human biological samples, blood and body fluids, for microbiological, hematological, immune-hematological and chemical analysis. Releases and/or places orders in hospital and laboratory computer systems, receives, processes and distributes specimens and/or blood products. Performs various functions including loading samples onto analyzers, preparing slides for staining and preparing samples for transport to other laboratories.
Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High School graduate or equivalent. Health related or science background with lab specific experience preferred. Must have computer operational skills using a personal computer, laboratory system or other hospital information system.
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:
Employees in this position: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose
NOTE:
A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.
